Updated: On Saturday, February 24, the BSHS Jazz Ensemble traveled to Cincinnati for the Essentially Ellington Regional Jazz Festival at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Our program featured four of this years compositions from the 23-24 Essentially Ellington Competition Library:
- Rent Party Blues by Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges, featuring Diego Farfan on Soprano Saxophone, Josiah Ramage on Trombone, Emerson Farrar on Violin, Chris Strejan on Trumpet, and Leo Figgs on Banjo
- Silk Lace by Duke Ellington, featuring soloist Emerson Farrar on Violin
- Golden Cress by Lawrence Brown and Duke Ellington, featuring Josiah Ramage on Tenor Trombone
- Addi by Duke Ellington, featuring Diego Farfan on the Alto Saxophone
